1.  I was thinking earlier today, when I was working at the DMP: I like military guys, as an instructor and as an office worker.  They're generally pretty fit, which is pleasing to the eye, and they're almost always polite -- I never, but never get called "Sir" in my job, and yet there they are saying "Yes, sir" and being all respectful.  Good times.

2.  We had a new campus preacher out today, in the plaza at 15th & High.  As I was walking by, I caught "...but we [presumably the members of his group] no longer see through a mirror darkly; we see crystal clear!"  Pretty fucking presumptuous, buddy.

Also not what the bible verse to which he's referring actually says. At all. It says that now (while on earth), we see through a mirror darkly, but then (when we get to heaven or something like that, depending on your particular interpretation), we will see clearly. The point is that we can't see clearly as imperfect humans, so anyone claiming that their group can is a liar and a fool. This is why Christians and churches shouldn't always be humble, open to new ideas, and always be testing what they see, hear, and believe - their own bible tells them to! Sorry, I get pretty worked up about this kind of stuff.

Also, congrats on mastering those fine arts!

1. I felt the same way when I worked for the town & had to do paperwork with police officers, both about the politeness and fitness, generally, though the older they got, the less easier on the eyes they got...

2. OSU preachers crack me up, they are so clearly nuts. My favorite was the one in the oval whose wife knitted while he jumped around & generally made himself ridiculous.
