HVAC fail

One of the office staff just sent out an email to the creative writing listserve:

FYI—Denney Hall is without air conditioning at the moment.  You might want to bring a fan in, if you plan to visit for a decent length of time.  The maintenance team tells us it should be fixed in a day or two.  I’ll keep you posted…

I work in the DMP for 6.5 hours today.  You know, a room full of computers and computer equipment?  Joy.

If it gets too hot in there those computers might decide they don't like it and cease operations. I suggest that you plan a course of action against such a possibility - perhaps a session of cavorting through a fountain? (Are there any good cavorting fountains on OSU's campus?)

Not really -- Mirror Lake's as close as we have, I think. And you know as well as I do that that idea is... well, perhaps less than wonderful.

Considering what I remember of the computers at OSU and how quaint they always seemed, it's quite possible that dip in Mirror Lake would improve their function. I would not, however, want to joint them on their quest for improvement. I like my genome just the way it is, thank you.
